When I created this, I was trying to see if materialism can be used for spiritual means.
Since then, I've learned it is the same thing.
I agree, not in the way the Buddhists who said this do, but in terms that opening up to the wonders of what this mortal existance offers keeps our attention away from wanting to exist in what's beyond before it happens.
I think spiritually living in the world beyond shows a misunderstanding or disdain for the gift of life.
Not enough spirituality can make material gains a vice and not one of the flavors of life.

Re: Why
Sat, November 19, 2005 - 8:01 AMScotty, I think in order to be a complete person we have to have a balance of health, emotion and spirital.
When there is an inbalance, all it not well. :) -

Re: Why
Sat, November 19, 2005 - 12:44 PMDear Bren Duh,
All is always well when we have the gift of life. Unbalance and the darker or more negative things in life are part of this wonderful journey and makes that balance so sweet when reached along the way.

Re: Why
Sun, November 20, 2005 - 9:46 AMTell ya what you do Scotty. You take all the negative things and I will concentrate on staying as positive as possible.
I just do not do well with the negative things in life and try my best to avoid them like the plague. :) -

Re: Why
Sun, November 20, 2005 - 10:48 AMSome negative things are o.k. like excessive sex. -

Re: Why
Fri, November 25, 2005 - 8:13 AMI am too aware of things in this world to shut them out and truly enjoy risky sex in dangerous places. I have experienced this, and find progressive and positive patterns to better the world, and specifically my own life to be the most dangerously and orgasmically erotic ideas of all. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Re: Why
Mon, November 28, 2005 - 12:50 PMI know my good friend.
I am referring to the only problems in the history of the disease we call man:
Lack of communication and
not taking responsibility.
It seems to me the war in Iraq is not Christian vs. Moslem, nor is it stealing oil or taking over the Middle East.
It seems to be the progressive people that want a good future vs. the extreme establishment that varies from being very afraid to wanting happiness at the cost of the rights, freedom and lives of others. The defined lines seem so blurred, as both sides seem to be split between good and evil.
Materialism in moderation seems to be the path to spirituality. -

Scotty, I am not sure that I agree with you.
How do you think that materialism leads to spirituality? Being spiritual shouldn't have anything to do with things in life but rather the state of our souls. -

Re: Why
Tue, November 29, 2005 - 10:33 AMExactly.
However, I found those who rejected what this realm has to offer, and only embraced pure spirituality to be a bit negative or feeling something is missing.
For me, the path to enlightment and the next realm is celebrating and embracing what makes us mortal.
Truth is, this would be possessions and vices, to me, in moderation. -

Re: Why
Tue, November 29, 2005 - 8:03 PMThere you go Scotty. We are finally coming to an understanding. I knew that we would.

Re: Why
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 10:20 AMthe highest most sacred formulation of this all is simple
Malkuth=Kether also known as 0=2
there is no heaven but here, it is up to us to Under Stand that ALL that it IT
and of course everything I just wrote is a symbol of a truth beyond the realm of words and ideas
