At least it would be more honest,a cold hard look at our society and values and how messed up they are anymore.Especially when it comes down to religion and freedom of expression. It's backwards, everybody demands their freedom and rights and immediately wants everyone else to be like them...and if you disagree with them you're accused of "violating their rights" and discrimination. They are in fact just as wrong as those they claim are oppressing them, why can't they look in the damn mirror? When it comes to religion it's a real sore spot with me.Especially now with the controversy over the Pope's comments. And naturally the backlash from Muslims...I'm not a fan of the Pope, but what in the world is wrong with everybody?Illegal aliens get free medical care, aren't held responsible for breaking laws in this country...and we pay for it?I probably should belong to the Negativity Anonymous...Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Once again, too negative slant on things...yet I think it would be a good thing.I mean as people can admit to having these problems and issues, and be more willing to deal with them.Instead of putting the blame on other areas and ignoring the underlying issues.

Everytime I read that original thread,I'm reminded of all the things we all keep secret and want no one to know about in ourselves, because airing it out in the open would be too much.Yet it also brings to light and heals, sharing it with others is better than dealing with it alone. So that list could go on and on.Would the world be better off? Mabe as these are simply another kind of sickness and addictions to some degree.Mabe so common no one sees it as an problem, lesser than the others.Poking fun at our humaness in a way.

Yep I definitely have to say I belong to jealous/pride/anonymous myself.Selfpunishing anonymous, control anonymous,passive-agressive anonymous, fear anoymous.I think about it and my greatest fear is having no control,I hate vulnerability in myself and feel uncomfortable with it in others. So I feel I'm rather obseessive with feeling the need to have everything in it's place. For fear of losing it all. It's on several levels, not showing or wanting to show emotional weaknesses. The sheer intensity of what I find myself feeling good and bad often is overwhelming, because to me it's irrational and beyond control.I put myself down and am as harsh with myself as I can be with others in my life.emotionally vindictive anonymous, sometimes I don't really feel the need to apologise to those who have hurt me,and love seeing them get theirs.I'm doing it again, but I feel I'm being honest here.I am and have been these things,it's a part of me.Not always proud of it,but even these have their place at times. An negative can be turned into a positive.

Mabe I should add "over explaining" to that list.I can't make things simple and to the point like you do Scott.I just go on and on.I must have lacked that "condensing things down to a few words only" gene when I was born.

I don't know why this struck me as funny, hell I'm confused enough as it is...I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body sometimes.I think we all are confused enough, nothing seems to make sense anymore. Some people are totally clueless, some so damn negative about everything they make me feel like a pollyanna. And that's scary. But yeah I needed a good laugh, why I found this funny beats me.One of those days, forgive me!

And if so, you should paint the model, not an abstact or landscape?

Native American folklore says do not hate or fear insects and they will not bite.
Would the ecosystem survive without them? I don't think any major extinction would be good for the earth, INCLUDING humans...Sorry Ape-planet scenario hopefuls...

It's odd,but I think you're on to something Scott.I used to be terrified of bees and wasps, been stung serveral times, wanting to kill everyone I saw.Every now and then an odd thing would happen,a bee or wasp would land on my arm and if I wasn't immediately aware of it,I wasn't afraid and naturally it wouldn't sting me.No reason to,no harm to each other.Lately I've extended that to spiders as well,if I see one I let it be or move it outside.I've not been stung in 10 years. So to there's no reason why we all couldn't co-exist,they(and all life) serve a greater purpose.Even the poisionous animals and insects, etc have a place and purpose, without them we probably wouldn't be here.We need them as much as they need us,upset that balance...

I learned that from a good source, Star Trek: Voyager.
I went to school though...and thought about Star Trek alot...

Hmmm.I never would've thought."School" and "Star Trek" strangely remind me of a kid named Stoner, actual name was Brian, who was obbsessed with Star Trek and it was literly the only thing he would talk about ever. And thought I should hear it as often as possible...he was very odd.Meant well, but I really don't think he was from earth, the only person I met who slept through every class and nearly made straight A's...it was a good show, just got to be alittle much after awhile.Beats alot that's on lately...

Dawn, it didn't come across as sarcastic.

I am not sure that I agree with y'all concerning insects. I can see the bee thing but mosquites and ants bite me when I don't even know they are there. Since my skin is so fair, they leave a terrible place when they do.

I have heard that we should drink a couple of tablespoons fo vinegar each day to adjust our system so that they won't bite. Know anything about that Dawn?

I never heard that about vinegar, but I know a woman who's about 90 years years old who swears by drinking a shot glass of vinegar a day,as long as I've known her, she's still sharp witted and tough as a crowbar. It's strong as hell, but seems to work.Tastes terrible, but I've had cravings for it in the past when I'm really feeling sick and nothing is just right..knocks it right out.I've read somewhere that it reduces high colesterol, but wether there's any truth to that or not I don't know.As for the bitting bugs like misquitoes and chiggers...alittle hard to feel sympathetic towards them,so I see what your saying there. That's why I hate summer,I'm a magnet for them.

I try to take the approach in the middle, twixt, loving all life, even parasites, and killing every bug.
I didn't kill a spider, because I had been taught it was bad luck, and now I am overrun with them, when I had my chance. When I sort papers, my arm gets welts on it from the bites, until the exterminator arrives. Some were around my microwave and I feel great power AND great responsibility!
My friend had a mouse last night and I refused to bludgeon it in the glue trap. It broke my heart to hear it scream over and over, but at least it had a good life it may not have in his kitchen before the ghastly glue trap...
The new Star Trek's from the 60's with all new spaceships and sfx, has made it's debute on NBC in the wee hours. This is noteworthy as NBC was the only station that picked up Trek in 1966, and killed it for reasons Trekkers can filibuster infinitum...
This is probably to start a buzz for the new J.J. (Lost) Abrams new Star Trek movie, starring Matt Damon as a young Captain Kirk and probably will have Ben Affleck as Spock.
This does not resonate with me, (and I am not a big Trek fan) since Gene Roddenberry used unknown actors and did so well (despite ratings).
I hate the idea of big names above quality, but this seems perfectly cast, especially if Affleck signs...

Did I just read this right?Ben Afflick as Spock???Please God tell me you're joking! Mabe I'm extremely biased but the idea of him playing Spock, scares me alittle...shuddering at the thought.I just can't imagine ethier of those two actor playing those roles well, mabe it's just me...I suppose he's a fine actor, but one I've never really cared for much in anything.I'm confused about the poor mouse, did it die?I hate mouse traps.I'd have let the cat end it's suffering if at all possible.

I do not have a problem killing a rat. They spread disease and shouldn't be allowed to get a foot hold in your apartment Scotty. Spiders either. Maybe condeming Ben Affleck as Mr. Spock is bad luck and your desire to watch television will rot away, seeming not to be a big problem when under some control and he won't be a recluse...

                                                Was that alright?
